The Worcester Housing Authority invites sealed bids for CANOPY DEMOLITION, MA12-12 BELMONT TOWER APARTMENTS, 40 Belmont Street, Worcester, MA 01605-2655; WHA Job No. 2019-06, in accordance with the documents prepared by the Architect, DIXON SALO ARCHITECTS, INC. The work is estimated to cost $140,000. Project consists of but is not limited to: demolition of existing front entrance canopy at Worcester Housing Authority’s Belmont Tower Apartments as described in the specifications and drawings. General Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Worcester Housing Authority, Department of Modernization, 81 Tacoma Street, Worcester, MA 01605 at which time and place all bids will be opened by the Awarding Authority. Please note: due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, all bids will be opened and recorded without public attendance. The results will be distributed shortly thereafter. A Pre-bid Conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Belmont Tower Apartments, 40 Belmont Street, Worcester, MA 01605-2655 in the front lobby at which time bidders will be invited to visit the project site with a representative of the Architect and the Worcester Housing Authority representative. Failure to attend or visit the premises shall be no defense in failure to perform contract terms. All attendees are required to follow all COVID-19 State and Local Guidelines. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c149 §44A-J and Davis Bacon wage rates as well as other applicable laws. Bid forms and Contract Documents will be made available on the Worcester Housing Website (http://www.worcesterha.org/currentbids.html) at no cost. Hard copies will be made available on March 31, 2021 at the Worcester Housing Authority Department of Modernization, 81 Tacoma Street, Worcester, MA 01605 and thereafter, Monday thru Friday 8:00 A.M. through 4:30 P.M. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing $50.00 in the form of a company check, made payable to the Worcester Housing Authority, for each set of documents so obtained. General Bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work: GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. Questions regarding this project shall be submitted in writing 72 hours prior to opening and emailed to Mod-Bids@worcesterha.org. Reference the WHA Job Number: 2019-06 only in the subject line.
