ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Owner: Northumberland County Commissioners Northumberland County Administration Center 399 Stadium Drive Sunbury, PA 17801 Sealed bids from PennDOT prequalified bidders will be received by the Northumberland County Commissioners for the Replacement of County Bridge No. 78, located on Township Road 469 (Gobbler Run Road) over Schwaben Creek in Upper Manahoy, Northumberland County. Sealed bids will be received by the County of Northumberland in the office of the Controller, Mr. Chris Grayson, County Administration Building, 399 Stadium Drive, Sunbury, PA 17801 until 10:00 a.m., prevailing time on May 24, 2021 for the Replacement of County Bridge No. 78. All bids will be publicly opened in the meeting room of the County Commissioners at 10:30 A.M. on May 24, 2021. Bids shall be delivered to the Office of the County Controller in a sealed envelope clearly marked: Replacement of County Bridge No. 78. This project includes the full replacement of a multi-beam bridge with a precast concrete box culvert and approach roadway work. The Contract Documents are available to be downloaded free of charge from the Northumberland County website in a PDF file format. A properly completed Northumberland County Non-Collusion Affidavit must be included (No substitute form will be accepted). Each bid must be accompanied by Cash, a Certified Good Faith Check, by a Cashier’s Check drawn upon a bank authorized to do business in this Commonwealth, or a Bid Bond with corporate surety payable to the Owner for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid. As soon as the Bid prices have been compared, the Owner will return the Bonds of all except the three lowest responsible bidders. When the Agreement is executed, the bonds of the two remaining unsuccessful bidders will be returned. The material and workmanship shall be in accordance with Standard Specifications of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Publication 408/2017 and all supplements thereto. All Contractors must be PENNDOT prequalified to perform this type of work. American made products are to be furnished, as per specifications. The County of Northumberland reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technical mistakes in the Submission of the Bid Forms. Failure to mark the sealed envelope “Replacement of County Bridge No. 78” or failure to include a properly completed Proposal, Northumberland County Non-collusion Bidding Affidavit, Bidder Certification of Prequalification, Schedule of Prices, Component Items Schedule, or failure to include cash, a certified check or a cashier’s check in the amount of 10% or bid bond in the amount of 10% will result in the rejection of a bid or bids.
