ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION GOOD ACRES AREA
The Town Council of the Town of Kouts, Porter County, Indiana, will receive sealed bids from contractors until 10:00 a.m. (local time) on April 28, 2021, at the Town Hall, 210 South Main Street, Kouts, Indiana 46347, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids will only be accepted from Plan Holders of Record.
Project Description: The project consists of approximately 3,323 lineal feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer replacement, approximately 1,745 lineal feet of 10-inch sanitary sewer replacement, sanitary service replacement, sanitary manhole replacement, associated surface restoration and associated appurtenances.
Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans are available for examination (by appointment only in consideration of COVID-19) at the Town of Kouts, Town Hall, 210 South Main Street, Kouts, Indiana 46347 (219-766-3035), and at the offices of the Engineer, Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C., 525 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana (574-234-3167).
Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans may be obtained at the office of Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C., 525 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, 46601 at a non-refundable cost of $100.00 for each set of documents and plans desired. In consideration of COVID-19 please call 574-234-3167 to make the necessary arrangements for pickup / delivery.
A certified check payable to the Town of Kouts, Indiana or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and their surety company, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract price before commencing work.
The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period and in addition a Maintenance Bond in an amount of 10% for a period of three years from the date of project completion of the work will be required.
Each bidder shall be required to complete the Bid Form included with these documents. The substantial completion date for this project shall be October 15, 2021.

For all bids $150,000 or greater, the bidder is required to complete and submit the Responsible & Responsive Bidder – Contractor Affidavit of Compliance provided in the Bid Forms.
The Town Council of the Town of Kouts, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding and to make an award in the best interest of the Town.
No bid or bid security may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the Kouts Town Hall, 210 South Main Street, Kouts, Indiana 46347 at 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. (Central Time – Local Time) on April 20, 2021.
