ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids addressed to the City of Sherman, Texas, for the WIP Sludge Removal Project 2021 in the City of Sherman, Texas, hereinafter called “City” or “Owner” in accordance with specifications and contract documents prepared by the City of Sherman will be received at the office of Engineering, 220 W Mulberry St., Sherman, Texas until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Bids received by the appointed time will be opened and read aloud. Any bids received after closing time will be returned unopened. The Contractor shall identify his bid on the outside of the envelope by writing the words: Enclosed BID WTP Sludge Removal Project 2021 For the CITY OF SHERMAN, TEXAS PUBLIC WORKS # 1490-U Bid Number 2022-01 October, 2021 Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier’s check or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the City of Sherman, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company licensed by the State of Texas to act as a Surety and be listed on the current U.S. Treasury Listing of Approved Sureties, or a Binder of Insurance executed by a surety company licensed by the State of Texas to act as a surety or its authorized agent as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute a Performance Bond within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to bidder. Plans, specifications and bidding documents may be secured from City of Sherman Engineering, City Hall, 220 W Mulberry St., Sherman, Texas. A non-refundable fee of $65 (SIXTY-FIVE DOLLARS) is required for obtaining this bid package. Plans are available also in digital (Adobe pdf) at no cost. The right is reserved by the Mayor and the City Council as the interests of the City may require to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in bids received. The Bidder (Proposer) must supply all the information required in the Bid Form. The successful bidder shall furnish to the OWNER upon notice of award a performance bond, labor and material payment bond. Bonds shall be submitted by a surety company specifically approved in writing from the OWNER holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as a surety, or other sureties acceptable to the OWNER. Said statutory bonds should be issued by a company carrying a current Best Rating of “A” or better. The name of the surety company shall be clearly written on the exterior of the sealed bid. The OWNER may consider informal any bid submitted where the bonding company has not been specifically approved in writing. For information to secure bid documents, call (903) 892-7314. This project consists of loading and hauling of water treatment plant built up sludge to TASWA Landfill, and site clean-up, in accordance with the plans and specifications. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the City of Sherman’s Water Treatment Plant Training Room, 243 La Cima Road, Sherman, Texas 75090. Failure to attend will not be cause for lack of knowledge of project. It shall still be the CONTRACTORS responsibility to familiarize their self with project aspects and components that may be required to complete.
