ADVERTISMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by the Portage Township Board, 3590 Willowcreek Rd., Suite B, Portage, IN 46368 until 6:00 p.m. (local time) on August 10, 2021, and then will be publicly opened and read aloud regarding the Portage Township Bonner Senior Center improvements listed below. Any bids received later than the above time will be returned unopened.
The description of the work is:
Senior Center Exercise Path
Portage Township, Portage, Indiana
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This work shall include two 8-foot-wide asphalt paths with concrete exercise areas and the installation of the furnished exercise equipment. Existing underground utility should not be involved.
COMPLETION DATE: The intermediate asphalt, concrete and sodding work shall be completed by October 29, 2021, with the equipment no sooner than 30 days of the completion of all concrete work and no later than November 15, 2021. No concrete work or sidewalk ramp work shall be placed between November 1, 2021, and April 1, 2022.

Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms contained in the Contract Documents or bid packet and obtainable from First Group Engineering, Inc. as stated above.
No bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The Portage Township Trustee Board reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Township Board further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, to the advantage of the Township Board, or to reject all bids.
BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier’s check made payable to the Portage Township, Portage, IN or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana.
BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required.
INDIANA REQUIREMENT: Standard Questionnaire Form 96 (latest version) which includes a non-collusion affidavit.
Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin and each bidder must conform with the anti-discrimination provisions of IC 5-16-6. An Affirmative Action Statement must be submitted at time of bid.
