INVITATION FOR BIDS HYANNIS TERMINAL ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT CONTRACT NO. 17-2021 The Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority will accept sealed bids from DCAMM Certified Roofing Contractors for the “Hyannis Terminal Roof Replacement Project” during regular business hours at the Steamship Authority’s Procurement Office, located at the Steamship Authority’s General Office Building, 228 Palmer Avenue, Room 207, Falmouth, MA 02540, before 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at which time and place they will be publicly opened. Every General Bidder must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance for the category of work: ROOFING Project No: 17-2021 Project Name: Hyannis Terminal Roof Replacement Project Location: 141 School Street, Hyannis, MA 02601 Estimated Construction Cost: $525,000.00 All work under the Contract must be completed as soon as possible after Contract Award/Notice to Proceed which we anticipate to be on or about October 20, 2021. In general, the work consists of replacing 7,710 square feet of asphaltic roof shingles and its underlayment with associated flashings. The existing zinc coated drainage troughs shall remain but repaired. This project also requires approximately 600 linear feet of fascia/cornice trim to be replaced. Further description to be found within the specs and drawings. Upon request, bidding documents will be sent electronically to all DCAMM qualified Roofing Contractors on or about October 24, 2021 by contacting the Steamship Authority’s Procurement Officer (508) 548-5011, ext. 515, or preferably by email: pnickerson@steamship authority.com. No hard copy of documents will be available. A Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Steamship Authority’s Hyannis Terminal, 141 School Street, Hyannis, MA. All attendees must sign up for the site visit by contacting the Steamship Authority’s Procurement Officer (508) 548-5011, extension 515, or by email: pnickerson@steamshipauthority.com. The Contractor will be required to pay prevailing rates of wages for all work performed on the project in accordance with the schedule of minimum wage rates issued for the project by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Occupational Safety, under the provisions of Mass. G.L.c.149, §§ 26 and 27. All submitted bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the “Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority” in the name of which the contract for the work is to be executed. The amount of such bid deposit shall be five percent (5%) of the TOTAL CONTRACT PRICE set forth in the bid. The Steamship Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to modify or amend with the consent of the bidder any bid prior to acceptance, and to waive any informality, all as the Authority in its sole judgment and discretion may deem to be in the public interest.
