Written proposals addressed to the City Purchasing Department, City Hall, 59 Court Street, Westfield, Massachusetts and endorsed “On-call Curbing and Sidewalk Repair or Replacement – Bid #21-027” Will be received by the Purchasing Department in the Purchasing Office Room 101 of City Hall until 2:00 P.M. June 29, 2021 and at that time opened, read aloud and recorded for viewing. All bids MUST be received by mail or delivery service, City Hall is closed to the public and cannot accept in person deliveries. All prospective bidders are encourage to send their bids ahead of time. If for any reason City Hall is closed for an unforeseen reason, bids will be opened on the next normal business day at the same time as indicated above. A pre-bid conference is not anticipated. The work under this Contract consists of Curbing and Sidewalk repair, replacement, or new construction in the City of Westfield including but not limited to installation of Concrete and Granite Curbing, Cobble Stone paving, and Sidewalk and ADA ramps together with associated work. MassDOT Highway Division prequalification is required. Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27G, inclusive. Federal wage rates are also included. Bidders must pay the higher of the two wage rates.
