ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The Town of Plainville acting through its Town Council, hereinafter called the Owner, will receive sealed Bids for Contract 2021-01E, Sidewalk Reconstruction at the Office of the Town Manager, Municipal Center, One Central Square, Plainville, Connecticut until 2:00 PM local time on July 1, 2021 then at said place publicly opened and read aloud. No bid will be accepted after 2:00 PM local time on July 1, 2021.The work under this Contract shall consist of the reconstruction of sidewalk on Laurel Court, Tomlinson Avenue and various Locations. Construction activities shall include replacing concrete sidewalk, installation of pedestrian ramps, driveway repairs, installation of bituminous concrete curbing and associated improvements.Contract Documents, which include Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, Bid, Agreement, General Conditions, Supplemental General Conditions, Special Conditions, Technical Specifications, Supplemental Technical Specification, Attachments, Contract Drawings and Addenda may be examined on or after June 10, 2021 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday, at the Office of the Town Engineer. Copies of the Contract Document may be obtained upon payment of $25.00 for each set.Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the form of a certified check of Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount of Bid. A performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond will be required equal to the value of the contract. All sureties must be listed on the most recent IRS Circular 570.All bidders are required to inform themselves fully of the conditions relating to the construction and labor under which the work will be or is now being performed and the contractor shall employ as possible, such methods and means to carry out this work that does not cause interruption or interfere with any other contractor.All bids shall be accompanied by the Drug and Alcohol Testing Program Compliance Certification which is enclosed in the Bid Documents. No bids submitted without a completed Drug and Alcohol Compliance Certification will be considered for award.This contract is subject to CHRO State set-aside and contract requirements.No Bid may be withdrawn until one hundred and twenty, (120), calendar days after the date of the opening of the Bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in the Bids: to reject any and all Bids; or to accept the Bid that in his judgement will be in the best interest of the Town of Plainville.The owner will conduct a pre-bid conference on June 24, 2021 at Plainville Municipal Center in the office of the Engineer at 10:00 AM.
