ADVERTISEMENT CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT BID No.: 22-065 FIRE DEPARTMENT ALARM CENTER NEW GENERATOR PROJECT SEALED BIDS FOR: A Prime/General Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. The City of Springfield is seeking bids for the installation of a new generator at the Springfield Fire Department Alarm Center located at 1535 Roosevelt Ave., Springfield, MA. The project will also include the removal and disposal of the existing interior generator. Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00 PM: October 27, 2021 by: Hope Button, Deputy Procurement Officer 36 Court Street, Room 307 Springfield MA 01103 Email: hbutton@springfieldcityhall.com FAX (413) 787-6295 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read in the Office of Procurement Bid Room. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes and reflects the changes of Chapter 193 of the Acts of 2004 relative to M.G.L.c.23A &44 AND M.G.L. c. 7, and 44N. Chapter 149 requires that the General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category “General Contractor.” Bid documents will be available October 6, 2021 at www.biddocs online.com (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167). Electronic bids shall be submitted to Biddocs.com only. Bidders requesting Bid Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs. All bidders are advised that the minimum wage rate schedule, issued by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Standards and the Davis Bacon prevailing wages are included in the specifications and shall prevail in the work on this project. All bidders are advised the City has a 20% goal for MWBE participation and the project is subject to the City of Springfield Responsible Employer Ordinance (REO). Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for October 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the entrance of the Alarm Center Building.
