RFQ documents and specifications will be available beginning on October 6, 2021 through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com, during normal business hours. The City of Springfield is seeking the services of a qualified “Designer”, to provide professional design and potential construction administration services for the replacement of the A tunnel roof structure at the Gerena Elementary School. Selection of a Designer will be made by the Designer Selection Panel of the City of Springfield, in accordance with all sections of M.G.L. Chapter 7C, as amended by Chapter 165 of the Acts of 2012. The Owner is seeking designs, specifications and construction documents for the above-mentioned project work, and continuing through the bidding and potential construction administrative phases, including final closeouts and warranties should the project progress to this stage. As a part of this RFQ, the designer selected will be required to coordinate all of their project scope and work with other designers previously hired for other building systems work at the location. Pre-Proposal Meeting All interested parties should attend the October 12, 2021 at 10:00am briefing session/site walk at the Gerena Elementary School Main St. Entrance (through Linda Park). (Total time estimated to be 1-1/2 hours) The Project Cost for this potential Project is estimated to be approximately $500,000. with variance depending upon the project scope as agreed upon by the Owner. The Fee for Basic Services is expected to be range between 8% and 10% of the project cost and will be negotiated- not to exceed $50,000. All Proposals becomes the property of the City of Springfield. The Chief Officer reserves the right to reject any and all proposals if it is in the best interest of the City to do so.
