DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TOWN OF WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS INVITATION FOR BIDDERS IFB #22-0020 LEGAL AD The Town of West Springfield Department of Public Works is inviting bids from qualified Contractors to provide Painted Roadway Traffic Marking services on various streets in West Springfield, MA as part of its yearly Roadway Maintenance Program. There will be one contract awarded as part of this IFB. Detailed specifications must be obtained at: https:// www.townofwestspring field.org/government/ departments/finance/ procurement-bids/bids Sealed Bid Proposals will be received at the preceding address until 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 31st, 2022. Immediately following that time will be publicly opened. Proposers shall submit One (1) original and One (1) copy of the bid. The outside of the sealed envelope should clearly read: “IFB 22-0020 ROADWAY TRAFFIC MARKING BID”. In addition, prospective bidders have the opportunity to submit their bids electronically via BidNetDirect.com. Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of Mass. General Laws, Chapter 149, and Sections 26 to 27 G, inclusive. All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Mass. General Laws, (Ter. ED.) Chapter 30, Section 39M, inclusive as amended. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount of five (5%) percent of bid as a bid bond, cash, a certified check or certificate of deposit issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of West Springfield. A Payment Bond and Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price will be required of the Successful Bidder. The Town anticipates approximately $120,000.00 of work completed for each calendar year under the awarded contract. There are liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per language in the general conditions detailed in the bid package. The successful bidder will be required to furnish workmen’s compensation insurance, public liability insurance, and a payment bond, as set forth in the specifications. The successful bidder will also be required to adhere to all Massachusetts guidelines and procedures for all construction sites and workers as they apply to this project. The Town of West Springfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding if it be in the public interest to do so.
