INVITATION TO BID RE: UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT UCONN 2000 Code Remediation and Programmatic Renovations Project #201523 Stamford, CT DUE DATE: TUESDAY, MAY 19th @ 2:00 PM BID TYPE: COMPETATIVE PUBLIC BID OWNER: UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT ARCHITECT: AECOM VALUE: $165,000 Bid Packages: Miscellaneous Metals, Painting, Carpentry and General Trades, Electrical 1. This project is a prevailing wage project and subject to Connecticut General Statue Section 31-53 and shall submit certified payroll with a statement of compliance on a weekly basis. 2. The Bid Packages that require SBE and/or MBE participation are noted in the bidding of most deferred maintenance, major renovation, and new construction projects, prime contractors / construction managers are advised they must award thirty percent (30%) or more of the value of their awarded contracts to certified SBE’s; and, of that amount ten percent (10%) of the total award or more must be awarded to SBE’s who are also M/Wbe’s. The subcontractors are responsible for ensuring that they and the SBE’s they have selected are eligible contractors and that they meet State requirements. 3. DAS prequalification by the State of Connecticut for the classification of work which the subcontractor is bidding on is required if the work exceeds $500,000. Subcontractors not prequalified for the classification which they are interested must indicate on the prequalification application that they have prequalification pending with the DAS or that they intend to submit an application.
