2021 STREET RESURFACING PROJECTS
2021-1 Community Crossing Matching Grant, Des. No. 2100481
Sealed bids for the 2021 Street Resurfacing Projects, 2021-1 Community Crossing Matching Grant, will be received by the Town of Schererville, Clerk-Treasurer, at the Town Hall, 10 E. Joliet Street, Schererville, Indiana 46375, until 9:00 AM, local prevailing time, on, Tuesday July 13, 2021. The Bids will be opened and read aloud at the same date, at a public meeting to be held at that time. Any bids received later than the above time will be returned unopened.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project consists of the furnishing and installation of all equipment, labor and materials for the asphalt milling and resurfacing of roadways in the Town of Schererville, IN. Also included in this work are concrete curb and sidewalk removal and replacement, ADA ramps and thermoplastic pavement markings.
Project Documents may be obtained on or after 9:00 A.M., Tuesday June 22nd, 2021 ONLY at the Office of the Clerk Treasurer, 10 E. Joliet Street, Schererville, Indiana 46375. A non-refundable fee of $25.00 is required for each set of Project Documents, which includes a Project Specification Manual. The fee shall be in the form of a check made payable to the Town of Schererville
Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form, and must be accompanied by an Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, signed copies of Addenda (if issued), Contractor’s Affidavit of Compliance with Indiana’s Illegal Immigration Law and satisfactory bid security, as set forth in the Project Documents.
A certified or cashiers check payable to the Town of Schererville or a bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. Bid security may be retained by the Board for a period of not-to-exceed thirty (30) days for all bidders and not-to-exceed sixty (60) days for the Bidder given tentative award of Contract. The successful Bidder will be required to provide all required project insurance, per Section 00650 of the Project Specification Manual; and separate Performance and Labor and Material Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the Contract amount.
Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be constructed under the contract for which a bid is submitted.
Bidders shall complete Bid Form 96, Financial Questionnaire and provide Financial Statement, all to be submitted with their bid.
Each successful bidder and any and all levels of subcontractors, regardless of tier and as a condition of being awarded a contract or subcontract, shall enter into a Project Labor Agreement consistent with Ordinance No. 1900 and comply with the requirements of the Town of Schererville Responsible Bidding Practices Ordinance No. 1900 adopted by the Town Council of the Town of Schererville, Lake County, Indiana.
A Non-Mandatory Pre-bid conference will be held at the Schererville Town Hall,
10 E. Joliet Street, Schererville, Indiana 46375, on Thursday July 1st, 2021 at
9:00 A.M. (local time) for all bidders.
The Town of Schererville reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to
waive any informalities in the bidding, should the Board deem it to be in the
public interest to do so.
