WATER AUTHORITY OF WESTERN NASSAU COUNTY

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the Board of Directors of the Water Authority of Western Nassau County, New Hyde Park, New York, until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at which time they will be publicly opened and read and the contract awarded as soon thereafter as practicable to construct Treatment Building at Station No. 20. Due to COVID19, the bid opening will not be open to public in-person attendance. Further information on how to view the bid opening virtually will be provided. Contact spal@h2m.com and mames@h2m.com to attend the bid opening. Requests to attend will be accepted up to one hour before the bid opening.
Detailed specifications, the proposed contract and bid forms for the above mentioned contract are presently available for electronic delivery from H2M architects + engineers, the Engineer of the Water Authority of Western Nassau County for this project. Electronic copies thereof may be obtained upon deposit of Ten Dollars ($10.00), made payable to the Water Authority of Western Nassau County. Due to current COVID19 precautions, mail the deposit to the Engineer at the following address: H2M architects + engineers, 538 Broad Hollow Road, 4th Floor East, Melville, NY 11747, attn: Melissa Ames. Please simultaneously email a scanned copy of the deposit check to the following to: spal@h2m.com and mames@h2m.com. Upon electronic receipt of the scanned check, H2M will transmit all bid documents via H2M’s Newforma Infoexchange website. If a hardcopy of the deposit is not received, the Water Authority of Western Nassau County reserves the right to reject the bid submission.
All bids shall be submitted upon the forms provided therefore by the Water Authority of Western Nassau County. Each bid proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Deposit payable to the Water Authority of Western Nassau County by certified check, bank check or bid bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total lump sum bid price. Bids must be addressed to the Board of Directors, Water Authority of Western Nassau County, 1580 Union Turnpike, New Hyde Park, New York 11040, and submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Treatment Building at Station No. 20” not later than 10:30 a.m. on the date above stated.
No bid may be withdrawn after its acceptance or for a period of forty-five (45) days after being publicly opened and read. Deposits for the plans and specifications will be completely refunded to bidders and non-bidders who make a request to H2M to get the deposit check back within ten (10) days following the bid date. No deposit will be refunded after ten (10) days following the bid date.
The Board of Directors of the Water Authority of Western Nassau County reserves the right to reject any and all bids in the whole or in part and to waive any informality in the bids and to accept the bid and award the Contract to the lowest, responsible, formal Bidder deemed most favorable to the interests of the Water Authority of Western Nassau County therefore, pursuant to Section 103 of the General Municipal Law. Upon acceptance of the bid, if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract pursuant to the requirements of said Board of Directors, then at the sole option of the Water Authority the bid deposit shall be forfeited to the Water Authority of Western Nassau County as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, and the Water Authority shall retain all of its other remedies for damages provided by law.
