PUBLIC NOTICE
Meeting of May 3, 2021
WHEREAS, from time to time, the Locust Valley Fire District is required to perform certain construction, reconstruction, renovations, alterations and/or capital improvements to the building or structure identified as the firehouse, located at 228 Buckram Road, Locust Valley, New York; and
WHEREAS, the Locust Valley Fire District established a Building Reserve Fund/Account and set aside funds in said account for the above stated purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Locust Valley Fire District seeks to replace the existing HVAC systems within the Dispatcher/Commissioner Office and the Information Technology Room, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the Fire District sought proposals for the aforementioned projects and obtained a proposal from Accelerated Services, Inc. for the Dispatcher/Commissioner Office in an amount not to exceed 17,000 and a proposal from Accelerated Services, Inc. for the Information Technology Room in an amount not to exceed 13,000; and
WHEREAS, the projects do not involve expenditures of more than 35,000, and therefore do not require competitive bidding as set forth in New York State General Municipal Law Section 103; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the LVFD’s Procurement Policy the LVFD has deemed Accelerated Services, Inc. as the lowest responsible dollar offer or for the above mentioned project; and
WHEREAS, the Building Reserve Fund/Account has sufficient funds for the aforementioned HVAC projectsand said expenditure shall not result in the expenditure of any additional tax monies, nor increase in any tax levy,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Locust Valley Fire District is hereby authorized and directed to enter into agreements with Accelerated Services, Inc. for the HVAC projects in the Dispatcher/Commissioner Room and the Information Technology Room, respectively, at the firehouse located at 228 Buckram Road, Locust Valley, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Locust Valley Fire District is hereby authorized and directed to make payment to Accelerated Services, Inc. for the abovementioned HVAC projects in the total amount not to exceed 30,000, upon presentation of a duly certified claim form(s), after audit, with funds available from the Building Reserve Fund/Account; and it be further
RESOLVED, That the Locust Valley Fire District is hereby authorized to enter into any agreement and to execute any other documentation necessary to facilitate the foregoing HVAC projects; and be it further
RESOLVED, That this Resolution is subject to a permissive referendum, as required by New York State General Municipal Law.
