ADVERTISEMENT TO BID 1.1PROJECT INFORMATION A.Notice: Qualified bidders are invited to submit proposals for Project as described in this Document according to the Instructions to Bidders. B.Project Identification: Addition and Renovations to Sun Valley High School 1.Project Location: 2881 Pancoast Ave, Aston, PA 19014. C.Owner: Penn-Delco School District, 2821 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014. 1.Owner’s Representative: Brian Datte, Director of Facilities. D.Architect: MAROTTA/MAIN ARCHITECTS, 214 North Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 E.Project Description: The project at Sun Valley High School consists of renovations to the classrooms, the auditorium, the art and music roooms, and to the athletic area. A small addition is included for music. F.Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1.General Building Construction. 2.Mechanical Construction. 3.Plumbing Construction, to include sprinkler system. 4.Electrical Construction. 1.2BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENING A.Owner will receive sealed proposals until the time and date at the location indicated below. Owner will consider proposals prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows: 1.Bid Date: Tuesday April 13, 2021 2.Bid Time: 2:00 p.m., local time. 3.Location: District Admin Office, 2821 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014. B.Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. 1.3BID SECURITY A.Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10% percent of the proposal amount. No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposal and to waive informalities and irregularities. 1.4PREBID CONFERENCE A.A mandatory pre-bid conference for all bidders will be held at 2881 Pancoast Ave, Aston, PA 19014 on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021 at 10:00 AM., local time. Prospective bidders are required to visit project site. Following this meeting-all attendance will meet at the project site, which will fulfill the required site visit. 1.5DOCUMENTS A.Electronic Bid Documents: Obtain on or after Monday March 15, 2021 by contacting the Architect. Documents will be provided to prime bidders only; only complete sets of documents will be issued electronically. 1.Deposit: $200.00 refundable to contractors submitting a valid bid. (Please make checks payable to “Penn-Delco School Districtâ€?.) B.Viewing Bid Documents: Examine after Monday March 15, 2021 at the office of the Architect: MAROTTA/MAIN ARCHITECTS 214 North Duke Street Lancaster, PA 17602 C.Any Prime Contractor that intends to bid the project through receipt of documents from sources other than the Architect, must notify the Architect’s Office of their intent to bid. 1.6TIME OF COMPLETION A.Successful bidders shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages. 1.Substantial completion shall be by August 19, 2022 2.Full and final completion shall be by September 2, 2022 3.Refer to specifications and drawings for phased completion milestones and additional information. 1.7BIDDER’S QUALIFICATIONS A.Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. DLN 3/12, 3/17, 3/22; 1a
