Wallingford-Swarthmore School District Plumbing Contract Strath Haven High School Secure Entrance Enhancements Project INVITATION TO BID NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids for The Strath Haven High School Secure Entrance Enhancements Project PLUMBING contract will be received at the Spencer House (a separate building) at 200 S Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19806 until 10:00 A.M, on March 30, 2021. Bid award is anticipated to be April 12, 2021, with all work completed no later than August 16, 2021. Bids must be submitted to the attention of Mr. Ferg Abbott, and shall be in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the Bidder and shall be clearly marked PLUMBING for Strath Haven High School Secure Entrance Enhancements Project. Interested parties may attend the Bid Opening by computer (or telephone) by connecting to a link that will be posted on the day of the Bid Opening on the School District’s website (https://www.wssd.org), go to Departments > Operations >. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids. Bids received after the above referenced date and time will be returned to the Bidder, unopened. Project Description: The project includes renovations to the third floor main entrance, and administrative offices; and to the first floor student entrance. Total project area is approximately 4000 SF of which 2600 Sf are administrative office renovations. This is the PLUMBING Prime Contract of a multi-prime construction project consisting of GC, Mech. and Elect. contracts. The plumbing scope , in general involves; minor demolition; the installation of (5) fire protection sprinkler heads; supply & return water piping tie-ins for (5) cabinet unit heaters and (1) fan coil unit; (1) hot water duct coil; and all miscellaneous work associated therewith. A fee of $100 shall be charged for (hard copy) plans and an additional $50 for other contract documents. All questions pertaining to the Contract Documents and bid submission shall be directed in writing to Nick Cirilli, PE. In addition to the Bid Form, Qualifications Statement, Non-collusion and other Affidavits defined in the bidding documents; each bid shall also be accompanied by: 1. Bid security equal to ten percent (10%) of Base Bid, and all alternate bid amounts in the form of a Bid Bond as described in the Supplementary Instructions to Bidders. 2. Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, must be furnished by the successful Bidder prior to execution of a Contract. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty (60) calendar days following the actual date of opening thereof, except as provided by the Commonwealth Procurement Code. However, if award of Contract is delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of a grant or grants, Bids may not be withdrawn by the Bidder for a period not to exceed 120 days from the date of bid opening in accordance with Pennsylvania law. Wallingford-Swarthmore School District (WSSD) reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject any or all Bids and to waive irregularities in any Bid. Further, the WSSD reserves the right to award any combination of Alternates, or no Alternates, which in its sole discretion, serves the best interests of the School District. This project is subject to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry’s Prevailing Wage Pre-Determination. Corporations seeking to bid which are organized under the laws of a State other than Pennsylvania must secure the appropriate certificate, authorizing them to conduct business within the Commonwealth.
