ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Radnor Township is soliciting sealed bids for its annual Superpave Street Resurfacing Program. The program consists of the contractor supplying all material, labor, tools, equipment, and manpower to install 93,607 square yards of asphalt milling, 9,430 tons 9.5 mm asphalt Superpave, 910 square yards Type I (2.5â€? base repair), 3 loop detectors, 2 1/2 Speed Humps, 1,550 tons of leveling course, and pavement markings (2,914 LF DYL) 41 (EA) Stop Bars, 1 Crosswalks, 96 #’s for Parking Stalls, 456 LF – 4â€? SWL for parking stalls, 40’ SBL (blue). All work and material are to be done in accordance with the latest Pennsylvania Department of Transportation requirements Publication 408 and Work Zone Traffic Control, Publication 213. Project Timeline: • A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 9:00 AM Tuesday, July 20th, 2021, at the Radnor Township Building, 301 Iven Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087. • Questions will be received until 4:00 PM, Thursday, July 29th, 2021; no questions received after that date and time will be responded to. All questions must be submitted via PennBID. • Sealed bids due via PennBID (PennBid.net): August 4th, 10:00 AM, 2021. • It is anticipated the project will be awarded at the August 16th, regularly scheduled Board of Commissioners meeting. • THE PROJECT MUST BE COMPLETED NLT OCTOBER 31ST, 2021. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES, AT $870/DAY, BEGIN NOVEMBER 1ST, 2021, FOR ANY UNCOMPLETED WORK. This is a prevailing wage project. A bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid is required. Upon award, payment and performance bonds in the amount of 100% of the bid are required, and a maintenance bond in the amount of 25% of the final contract price is required. Radnor Township reserves the right to add or delete streets based on budgetary constraints; streets added or removed from the project will be done at the unit prices submitted by the successful bidder. The leveling course quantities may vary once the original surface is milled. All quantities noted on Exhibit A are informational only; bidders must completely familiarize themselves with the project and verify quantities. The successful bidder must be Penn DOT pre-qualified for milling and paving, and their subcontractors for pavement markings and loop detector installation. The Township will not accept bids from any firm/corporation that are currently in litigation with the Township. The Township Board of Commissioners reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all proposals, or parts thereof, for any cause permitted by law, as it deems in the best interest of the Township.
