notice TO BIDDERS Radnor Township is soliciting bids for pedestrian improvements to the intersection of N. Wayne Avenue/West Ave/Station Road/Pennsylvania Ave/Poplar Avenue, including upgrades of pedestrian signal heads and push buttons, upgrades of existing ADA ramps, replacement of portions of existing sidewalks, emergency vehicle pre-emption, a video detection system and upgrade and relocation of the controller cabinet. Bids due via PennBid: Thursday, November 11, 2021 10:00 AM EST Pre-bid Meeting: Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 9:00 AM EST (link to virtual meeting to be provided) Close of questions (via PennBid) Friday, November 5, 2021 4:00 PM EST Radnor Township reserves the right to add or delete portions of work based on budgetary constraints. The award date for this project is tentatively scheduled for Monday, November 22, 2021. Shop drawings may be submitted for approval after the Notice to Proceed. Construction may not start before Monday, January 10, 2022 and must be completed no later than Friday, April 8, 2022. The Township will not accept bids from any firm/corporation that are currently in litigation with the Township. This is a prevailing wage project. In the event of a delay to the project completion terms as per the Schedule for which Contractor is solely responsible, Contractor shall pay Liquidated Damages to Radnor Township at a rate of $880 per day of delay for every day after Friday, April 8, 2022. A bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid is required. Bid security shall be in the form of either a Bond issued by a corporate surety approved by the Secretary of Insurance to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or a certified check or an Irrevocable Letter of Credit issued by a bank licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Township Board of Commissioners reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all proposals, or parts thereof, for any cause permitted by law, as it deems in the best interest of the Township.
