Lumber Futures For July Dips To $598.50
United States of America – Lumber futures dipped below $600.00 to $598.50 for July contracts. The price makes short term forward Lumber contract prices incredibly attractive compared to recent months and years. Reports of higher interest rates with slowed demand and re-stocked inventories at lumber yards and mills are most likely resulting in the seasonally lower prices when considering inflation.
Builder & Home Builder hold out, most notably, through mid-west and southern territories along with mid-term political and geopolitical uncertainties are also factors in skewing demand and lower lumber prices. Single family construction has been lower than expected the past few qtr’s while Multi-Family construction has been carrying most permit data.
