Enter The Next Gen Mack LR Electric
The new LR Electric has 42 percent more energy and a standard 376 kWh total battery capacity, providing a greater range. The Mack LR Electric has twin electric motors and produces 448 continuous horsepower and 4,051 lb.-ft. of peak torque from zero RPM. The LR Electric is equipped with a two-speed Mack Powershift transmission, Mack mRIDE suspension, and Mack’s S462R 46,000-pound rear axles.
The LR Electric is easily identified by a copper-colored Bulldog on the cab denoting the electric drivetrain. Vehicle propulsion is provided by four NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide) lithium-ion batteries that are charged by a 150 kW, SAE J1772-compliant charging system. The four batteries also power every onboard accessory, which is powered by 12V, 24V, and 600V circuits. The two-stage regenerative braking system aids in the recovery of energy from the hundreds of stops made by the vehicle each day with an increasing load.
