NOTICE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals, in duplicate, will be received at the Office of the Manager at the Falls Township Municipal Building, 188 Lincoln Highway, Suite 100 Fairless Hills, PA, 19030 on March 11, 2021, until 11:00 AM prevailing time, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary for: Falls Township Community Park Hockey Rink Improvement Project. The principal items of work to be performed under this project include: – Construct new concrete curb around hockey rink, and – Mill and Overlay Hockey Rink surface, and – Construct asphalt sidewalk Bids, which must be submitted in duplicate, will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Falls Township Municipal Building, at the above address at 11:15 AM, March 11, 2021. The bid award date shall be announced at the bid opening. A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Falls Township Municipal Building on March 03, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Specifications, Plans and information for bidders may be obtained at the Falls Township Office of Jones Engineering Associates, Inc. 188 Lincoln Highway, Suite 206 Fairless Hills, PA 19030, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at a non-refundable cost of $50.00. An additional $25.00 for postage must be included if mailing is necessary. A copy of the plans and specifications will be available for review at the Falls Township Municipal Building between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Checks shall be made payable to Jones Engineering Associates, Inc. All bids must be sealed and addressed to the Owner at the above address and be marked “Sealed Bid for Falls Township Community Park Hockey Rink Improvement Project” on the outside of the envelope. Delivery of all bids to the Office of the Owner shall be the sole responsibility of the bidder. Questions regarding the specifications shall be directed to Joseph G. Jones, P.E., the Owner’s Engineer, at 215-377-9244. The bids must be made on the forms furnished by the Owner and the bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Owner. All bids must be accompanied by a Surety’s Consent. Said surety to be licensed to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The successful bidder shall be bound to furnish and pay for a Performance Bond and a Labor (“Public Works Contractors’ Bond Law of 1967,” P.L. 869, 8 P.S. § 191 et seq) & Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a Maintenance Bond in an amount equal to fifteen percent (15%) of the contract price, on bond forms acceptable to the Owner. The Bidder’s attention is called to the fact that the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act applies to this Contract and that the successful Bidder shall pay no less than the Wage Rates determined for the project area as set forth in the Contract Documents. In addition, The Falls Township Responsible Contractor Ordinance applies to this project and it is a specific requirement that any contractor who submits a bid provide PennDOT pre-qualified certification. The successful bidder shall take affirmative action to ensure that applicants for employment and employees or agents are treated without discrimination based upon race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, sex, or disability. If the contract is awarded it will be to the lowest responsible bidder, however the Owner reserves the right to reject any and or all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law. No bidder may withdraw a bid within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, except in accordance with the terms of PA Act 4 of 1974, latest revision.
