NOTICE FOR BIDS Schuylkill Conservation District will be accepting bids for the Swatara Creek Bank Stabilization and Gravel Bar Removal Project. The project includes installation of boulders for bank stabilization and fish habitat and removal of a gravel bar within the Swatara Creek. The project area is located in Pine Grove Borough and Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Work will involve placing the rock structures within the stream channel, removing the gravel bar from the site, erosion and sediment control plan implementation, and planting the site with native vegetation. All fill materials will be disposed of out of the floodplain and out of any wetlands. The bid shall include furnishing a performance bond for one hundred percent of the contract amount. A mandatory site showing is scheduled for September 28, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. All attendees are to meet at the picnic grove along the Swatara Creek behind North End Fire Department, 118 N. Contractors must have and include in the package a demonstrated experience in knowledge and construction of successful streambank stabilization projects. Contractors are required to address all conditions of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP)/ United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) stream encroachment approvals and erosion and sediment control measures required by the Schuylkill Conservation District and PADEP Chapter 102 regulations. Bid packages are due by 10:00 a.m. October 15, 2021 at the Schuylkill Conservation District Office, located at 1206 Ag Center Drive, Pottsville, PA 17901-9733 and will be opened to the public at 10:05 a.m. the same day. Contractors should be ready to start work by November 1, 2021. All work must be completed by January 15, 2022.
