City of Crown Point, Lake County, Indiana Sealed bids for the 2020-2 Community Crossing Projects will be received at Public Works 705 Industrial Blvd, Crown Point, Indiana, 46307, until 2:00 PM, local prevailing time, on March 2nd, 2021. The bids will be opened and read aloud at the Board of Public Works & Safety meeting beginning at 11:00 AM on March 3rd, 2021. There will be no pre-Bid conference for this project. The project consists of road improvements including but not limited to grinding, resurfacing, concrete and related services. The Project Documents may be OBTAINED ONLY on or after February 18th, 2021 via email from the City of Crown Point Public Works Department. Bid documents can be requested from the following email address: hevans@crownpoint.in.gov. Any questions can also be directed to (219) 662-3242. Sealed bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form provided in the Project Documents, and must be accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation that copies of Addenda were received (if issued), and satisfactory bid security. A certified or cashier’s check payable to the City of Crown Point or a bid bond in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. All checks from unsuccessful bidders will be returned to them by the City upon selection of the successful bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to provide both a Performance and Payment Bond each portion in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the Contract amount. Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under the Contract(s) for which a bid is submitted. Bidders and their subcontractors shall be INDOT prequalified to perform the work specified in these contract documents. Materials shall be supplied by an INDOT certified manufacturer. Pursuant to Indiana Code 22-5-1.7-11, the Contractor entering into a contract with the City of Crown Point is required to enroll in and verify the work eligibility status of all of its newly hired employees through the E-Verify program. The Contractor is not required to verify the work eligibility status of all its newly hired employees through the E-Verify program if the E-Verify program no longer exists. Pursuant to Indiana Code 5-22-16.5 the City of Crown Point may not contract with a person who is engaged in investment activities in Iran. In determining the lowest responsible bidder, the Owner will consider the Total Base Bid and/or any combinations of the total base bid and/or alternate bids. All bids must comply with the City’s Responsible Bidding Ordinance. The City may also consider all other relevant facts mentioned in the Project Documents or which the Owner may legally consider. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the City deem it to be in the public interest to do so.
