PUBLIC NOTICE REQUEST FOR BIDS SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL CLEAN-UP Sealed proposals for trash removal services for Smithfield Township’s Spring Clean-up will be accepted by the Smithfield Township Board of Supervisors, 1155 Red Fox Road, East Stroudsburg, PA, 18301; until 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 06, 2021 at which time they will be opened and read aloud. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded at the regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 7 p.m. Spring Clean-up Days will be held May 12 through May 16, 2021. All bidders must be haulers licensed by Monroe County. Items to be considered in the bid are: (20) units, more or less, at least 30-yard, open-top, roll-off containers to be delivered beginning May 11, 2021. Minimum of (5) containers will be needed for the first day of clean-up. A separate container will be required for tires. Containers shall be emptied as required, or as requested by the Township. Successful bidder must be available to remove full containers and replace with enough empty containers for use on Saturday and Sunday. Scrap Metal will be separated and handled by the Township. Price shall be quoted per container. Proposals shall be submitted on the bidders business letterhead addressed to Smithfield Township Board of Supervisors, and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount equal to 10% of the bid price. Bidders shall indicate on the outside of the envelope that contained therein is “Bid for Spring Clean-Up.” The successful bidder must furnish a 50% performance bond and a certificate of liability and workers compensation insurance within ten days of award of the contract. Smithfield Township reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any deficiencies or irregularities in any proposal, and to accept the proposal which is in the best interest of the Township. Bidders shall attach to their proposal a list of items that are unacceptable for collection at the municipal clean-up. Jacob A.
