HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT- Taken by initiative, “Revolution Wind”, as it has been dubbed, is Connecticut’s commitment to supply 1.1 gigawatts of offshore wind and part of Biden’s overall 30 Gigawatts by 2030. Revolution Wind is a 704MW off-shore wind farm slated to begin construction in late 2021 or early 2022 with an operational completion goal of 2023. Energy will service Connecticut and Rhode Island, in partnership with Eversource Energy.

HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT- Taken by initiative, “Revolution Wind“, as it has been dubbed, is Connecticut’s commitment to supply 1.1 gigawatts of offshore wind and part of Biden’s overall 30 Gigawatts by 2030. Revolution Wind is a 704MW off-shore wind farm slated to begin construction in late 2021 or early 2022 with an operational completion goal of 2023. Energy will service Connecticut and Rhode Island, in partnership with Eversource Energy. Revolution Wind’s exact parameters is more than 15 miles south of the Rhode Island coast, 32 miles southeast of the Connecticut coast and 12 miles southwest of Martha’s Vineyard.
This offshore wind company is expected to bring in billions of dollar of economic activity, generating not only clean reusable wind energy to Connecticut businesses, but also seeking lots of investments. Some investments includes, but aren’t limited to:
- New and expanding infrastructure
- Onshore and off shore business opportunities
- Trendsetting other coastal locations to engage wind energy supplies
There will be a virtual event hosted on Eventbrite on June 9, 2021 beginning at 10 a.m., and ending at 11:30 a.m. Hosts includes industry experts and public officials whom will navigate discussions of innovative projects, and prospective opportunities to come.

The Biden Administration recently announced its goal of deploying over 30 Gigawatts of offshore wind power by 2030. These projects represent billions of dollars of economic activity over their lifetimes. To support the planning and execution of Revolution Wind, the Department of Economic and Community Development, together with Ørsted and Eversource, would like to invite you to participate in a virtual supply chain information event.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Industry experts lead an exploration of offshore wind energy, including economic development opportunities for local companies on and off the water, investments in local infrastructure, and workforce expansion and planning.
This event will be led by industry professionals and public officials, who will speak on current projects as well as emerging opportunities across many sectors.
