Town of Sterling Invitation to Bid The Town of Sterling is seeking a proposal to tack coat and overlay the following: Approximately 10,912 linear feet on Snake Meadow Hill Road from the Plainfield Town Line to the end of the new pavement, approximately 500 linear feet before the intersection with Gibson Hill Road. The road is approximately twenty feet (22’) in width. Approximately 1,431 linear feet on Jared Hall Hill Road from the intersection with Snake Meadow Hill Road. The road is approximately twenty feet (20’) in width. Approximately 12,859 linear feet on Margaret Henry Road in its entirety. The road is approximately twenty feet (24’) in width. Approximately 1,644 linear feet on Barber Road from the intersection with Margaret Henry Road. The road is approximately twenty feet (20’) in width. Supply and install leveling course over entire roadway; tack coat must be applied along the entirety of the road section(s) to be overlaid, and the overlay shall be one and one-half (1?) inches of compacted Class 1 bituminous concrete making sure that all ends are properly keyed with the old surface. All driveway aprons shall be paved to meet the new road. Each bidder shall furnish a bid security in the amount of ten (10) percent of the bid. The bid security may be in the form of a certified check drawn upon a bank within the State of Connecticut or a bid bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Connecticut, made payable to the Town of Sterling, CT. Sealed bids shall be accepted until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Sterling Town Hall, Office of the Selectman, PO Box 157, 1183 Plainfield Pike, Oneco, CT 06373. A mandatory pre-bid meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Sterling Town Hall. All work must be completed no later than October 30, 2021. Bids will be publicly opened and read at an open public meeting on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Room #15 at the Sterling Town Hall, by the Board of Selectmen.
