ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS SEALED BIDS will be received by THE BOROUGH OF AVOCA, Luzerne County, PA at the AVOCA BOROUGH MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 950 MAIN STREET, AVOCA PA 18641, until 1:00 P.M. Local Time, June 3, 2021, and then publicly Opened and Read Aloud at 1:00 P.M. Local Time, June 3, 2021, at the AVOCA BOROUGH MUNICIPAL BUILDING, for consideration at the AVOCA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING on June 10, 2021 at 6:30 P.M. at the AVOCA BOROUGH MUNICIPAL BUILDING, BIDS are invited for the following contract: AVOCA BOROUGH MS4 POLLUTION REDUCTION PLAN BMP #2 – VEGETATED SWALE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at the Office of PENNEASTERN ENGINEERS, LLC, 165 North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. COPIES of the Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing a nonrefundable FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) per set, during normal business hours, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the office of PENNEASTERN ENGINEERS, LLC, (570) 208-3130. All bidders must be on file at the office of PennEastern Engineers, LLC to be considered responsible bidders. Attention is called to the Prevailing Minimum Wage requirements contained within the Contract Documents that are to be utilized for this project. BID SECURITY in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to submit a payment bond for 100% of the contract amount and a performance bond for 100% of the contract amount within 15 days of the contract being awarded. The successful bidder will also be required to submit a two-year maintenance bond in the amount of 100% of the contract amount This project is funded by a grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority, Act 13 Watershed Restoration and Protection Program and by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Heritage and Other Parks Program. THE BOROUGH OF AVOCA reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive informalities in the bidding.
