BERKS-MONTGOMERY MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY BERKS/MONTGOMERY COUNTIES, PENNSYLVANIA PUMP STATION #2 GRINDER PROJECT DOUGLASS TOWNSHIP, MONTGOMERY COUNTY ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Separate sealed bids will be received in duplicate by the Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority until 1:00 P.M. prevailing time, on June 23, 2021 for the Pump Station #2 Grinder Project. The work includes the furnishing and installation of a new sewage grinder unit and associated electrical wiring and work. The Project consists of the following Contracts: Contract ‘A’ – General/Mechanical Construction Contract ‘B’ – Electrical Construction Bids should be mailed or hand delivered to the office of Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority, P.O. Box 370, 136 Municipal Drive, Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania 19525. All BIDDERS who will be submitting bids to the Authority must register and purchase a complete set of the Bid Documents from SDE. Copies of the Contract Document shall be obtained and can be examined at the office of Systems Design Engineering, Inc., located at 1032 James Drive, Leesport, PA 19533. Cost of a document set is fifty dollars ($50.00) for an electronic copy. No hard copies will be available. Checks should be made payable to Systems Design Engineering, Inc. NO refund will be given. All Contracts exceeding $10,000.00 shall be performed in compliance with Executive Order 11246, entitled, “Equal Employment Opportunity,â€? as amended by Executive Order 11375 and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations (41 CFR Part 60). Each Bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Surety Company’s Bid Bond on the form provided in the Bid Documents, naming as payee or Obligee, Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid submitted. The Surety Company must be acceptable to said Authority. The successful BIDDER will be required to execute the Agreement and to furnish a “Performance Bondâ€? and a “Payment Bondâ€? all on the respective forms provided in the Contract Documents. The Contractor also will be required to furnish evidence of insurance coverage as required by the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened and read at a special meeting of the Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority to be held at 1:00 P.M. prevailing time on the 23th day of June, 2021. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the above specified date for receiving, opening, and reading of Bid, except as specifically may be provided by law. The wages paid on this project will be subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 as amended and supplemented. Bidders should refer to provisions of federal and state statutes, rules, and regulations dealing with the prevention of environment pollution and the preservation of public, natural resources that affect the project. Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, and to delete any item or portion of an item without affecting the Bids on the remaining items or portion of items. The above invitation to Bidders is made for the benefit of the Berks-Montgomery Municipal Authority and no rights shall be deemed to accrue to any person making a Bid by reason of the submission of any bid hereunder or by waiver or non-enforcement of any provision or requirement of this invitation. Any Bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of Bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any Bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. The award of the Contract and the issuance of Notice to Proceed shall be contingent upon the approval of the Performance Bond, Payment Bond, Agreement and the Certificates of Insurance.
