Construction Spending Report Released
United States Of America – Construction spending in the United States increased by 0.2 percent from the previous month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of USD 1.640 trillion in December 2021, following an upwardly revised 0.6 percent increase in December and falling short of market forecasts for a 0.6 percent increase.
Private construction spending increased by 0.7 percent, driven mostly by new single-family residential construction (2.1 percent), amusement and leisure (3.3 percent), and accommodation (3.3 percent) (2.1 percent).
On the other side, public construction expenditures decreased by 1.6 percent, dragged down by transportation (-3.0%), education (-1.4%), and sewage and waste management (-1.4%). (-3.9 percent).
