DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TOWN OF WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS BID No. 22-0001 INVITATION TO BID: Sealed bids for ” Traffic Signal Repairs, Street Light Repairs, Installation & Betterments ” in said West Springfield will be received by the Director of Public Works at his office in the J. Edward Christian Municipal Office Building until 10:00AM on August 5, 2021 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read. The work of this contract is on an On-Call basis and includes repairs, installations and betterments of the Town’s traffic signals, traffic control equipment, street lights, and other such alterations as may from time to time be directed by the Director of Public Works or his designee. The contract will be for services based upon an hourly rate compensation of workers for both electrician and non-electrician labor and hourly rate compensation for utilization of contractor’s bucket/utility truck. Parts and supplies will be billed at a percentage above the manufacturer’s price. https://www.townofwestspringfield.org /government/departments /finance /procurement-bids/bids In addition, prospective bidders have the opportunity to submit their bids electronically via BidNetDirect.com. There is a special mailbox set up in the lobby of the Town Hall labeled “bids” for bidders who wish to physically drop off their bids. No bids will be accepted after the above stated date and time. Immediately following that time all bids (paper and electronic) will be publicly opened. All bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish workmen’s compensation insurance and public liability insurance. A Payment Bond, in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price will be required of the Successful Bidder. Each bidder must submit with his bid, security in the amount of the ‘Cost per Hour Labor and Truck’ for 50 hours as a bid bond or a certified check payable to the Town of West Springfield. Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D, inclusive. The Town of West Springfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding if it be in the public interest to do so.
