TOWN OF HIGHLAND BOARD OF WORKS 2021 CCMG STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The Town of Highland Board of Works, Highland, Indiana will receive sealed bids for the

2021 CCMG STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT” until 10:00 A.M. (local time) onTuesday, August 10, 2021, at the office of the Clerk-Treasurer, Town of Highland,

333 Ridge Road, Highland, Indiana 46322, at which time and place said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received later than the above time will be returned unopened.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project consists of the furnishing and installation of all equipment, labor and materials for asphalt milling, HMA overlay, sidewalk and curb ramp replacements for ADA compliance, casting adjustments, traffic loop repairs, signage and pavement markings along several road segments in the Town of Highland.

Project Documents may be examined and obtained BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at the Office of NIES Engineering, Inc., 2421 173rd Street, Hammond, Indiana, 46323, (219) 844-8680. A non refundable fee of $50.00 is required for each set of Project Documents which includes a Bidding Packet and CD of the Plans and Specifications.

he fee shall be in the form of a check made payable to NIES Engineering, Inc. This remittance is non-refundable. For questions or for the purchase of Project Documents, please contact Derek Snyder at dsnyder@niesengineering.com.

Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form (Section 00300), and must be accompanied by a completed Town of Highland Affidavit of Compliance, Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, Certification Regarding Unauthorized Aliens, signed copies of Addenda (if issued) and satisfactory bid security.

BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier’s check made payable to the Town of Highland or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana.

BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, will be required upon award of the contract.

No bidder may withdraw her or his proposal within a period of 30 days following the date set for receiving bids. The Town of Highland Board of Works reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 30 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Board further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the Town of Highland Board of Works, or to reject all bids.

The successful Contractor and his or her subcontractors shall be a licensed contractor with the Town of Highland in accordance with Chapter 5.20 “Licensing of Building Contractors” of Title 5 of the Highland Municipal Code.

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the Town of Highland Town Hall, 3333 Ridge Road, Highland, Indiana on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10:00 A.M., (local time), for all bidders.
