FORM OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE RESURFACING AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2021 FOR TOWNSHIP OF TINICUM, DELAWARE COUNTY, PA PROPOSALS will be received by the Board of Commissioners, Township of Tinicum, Delaware County, Pennsylvania at The Historic Lazaretto, 97 Wanamaker Avenue, Essington, PA 19029 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Prevailing Time, until 2:00 P.M., Prevailing Time, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 for the following: The bid consists of Reconstructing Various Roads for an Approximate Length of 2,875 Lin. Feet (0.545 Miles) including 8,080 +/- S.Y. of Milling up to 3½â€? Depth. Paving consists of approximately 1,250 Tons of 2â€?– SuperPave Asphalt Pavement Mixture, 19 MM, Binder Course, and 950 Tons of 1.5â€? – SuperPave Asphalt Pavement Mixture, 9.5 MM, Wearing Course, SRL- “Hâ€?. The project includes the construction of 10 Type 1 Double Curb Cut Ramps. All Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud by the Township Secretary at 6:30 P.M. Prevailing Time, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Tinicum Township Memorial Building, 629 N. Governor Printz Blvd., Essington, PA. Specifications and forms of proposals may be obtained at the office of the Township Secretary or James W. MacCombie, P.E. Township Engineer, 1000 Palmers Mill Road Media, Pa. 19063 upon making a non-refundable deposit of $50.00. Checks should be made payable to Herbert E. MacCombie, Jr., P.E., Consulting Engineers and Surveyors, Inc. PROPOSALS must be upon the forms furnished by the Township and securely sealed in an envelope and clearly marked “2021 Tinicum Township Resurfacingâ€?. The name of the Bidder must be clearly marked on the envelope. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, made payable to Tinicum Township. The Letter of Intent, Certificate of Authority, Non-Collusion Affidavit and the Commonwealth Public Works Employment Verification Form must be completed and executed. All Bidders must be prequalified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Contractor’s Performance Bond and a Labor and Materialmen’s Bond in an amount of the accepted bid. The Surety Company and form of surety shall be subject to the approval of Tinicum Township. The Bond Company should have no less than an “Aâ€? rating (Best Rating) and provide documentation of their authority to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, the Bond should be provided without a reinsurer. This project is subject to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prevailing wage requirements including latest revisions.
