INVITATION FOR BID The Blythe Township Board of Supervisors will receive separate sealed bids for Valley Road and Pine Creek Road Paving Projects until 12:00 Noon (prevailing local time), Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the office of Lehigh Engineering, LLC, 200 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville PA. 17901. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud 6:00 PM Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at a special meeting of the Blythe Township Board of Supervisors at the Blythe Township Building. Faxed bids will not be accepted. The Valley Road project consists of fourteen (14) pavement restoration areas totaling 801 SY at 4 inch depth. The bid shall also include an add/alternate for the following work: Construct roadside swale along southern shoulder 720 feet long by 2.5 feet wide; Remove damaged 24″ CMP cross-pipe and full stone backfill trench. The Pine Creek Road project consists of shoulder repairs in two (2) locations: Location 1 Replace 4″ underdrain pipe 100 feet long in a 24 inch wide by 24 inch deep trench. The pipe shall be bedded in 18″ of #4 stone and the top 6″ shall be asphalt pavement; Location 2 Full depth shoulder 680 feet long by 4 feet wide by 5 inches deep. The bid shall also include an add/alternate for regrading along the shoulder 733 feet long by 4 feet wide to direct runoff off the shoulder and into wooded right-of-way. The description of work for the project is identified more clearly in the Proposal and Contract (When Executed), Contract specifications and Contract Documents, which may be obtained at the office of the Engineer, Lehigh Engineering, LLC, 200 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA 17901, (570) 628-2300. Copies of the Proposal Request must be obtained from this source. There is no charge if picked up at Lehigh Engineering office or if the request is for electronic copies. BIDDERS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ONE (1) COPY OF THE BID PROPOSAL. PROJECT NAME, “Sealed Bid for Valley Road and Pine Creek Road Paving Projects”, SHALL BE CLEARLY MARKED ON OUTSIDE OF BID ENVELOPE. Bids shall be addressed to: Lehigh Engineering, 200 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA. 17901 Attention: Joel Schmoyer, PE. Name of individual and/or firm must appear on outside of sealed envelope containing bid. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID SHALL APPEAR ON FIRST PAGE OF THE BID IN THE SPACE PROVIDED. BID SECURITY IN THE AMOUNT OF 10% OF THE TOTAL BID PRICE SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE BID FORMAT. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bidder’s bond, or certified check or cashier’s check, in favor of the Blythe Township in the amount of not less than ten percent. Blythe Township reserves the right to waive any informality in and to accept or reject any and all bids. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days. This project is subject to State Prevailing Wage Rates.
