Invitation to Bid 2C21-056Rehabilitation of Bridge 04105 Memorial Boulevard over Pequabuck River The City of Bristol, Connecticut is seeking bids for rehabilitation of Memorial Blvd Bridge and other associated work. Bid documents may be obtained by downloading from the web site via the following link: https://bristolct.gov/Bids.aspx?BidID=994 A mandatory bidder’s conference will be held on March 17, 2021 at 10:30 am, at the Memorial Boulevard parking lot located at 495 South Street, Bristol CT. Bids from firms not in attendance will not be considered for award.Bids will be accepted until March 31, 2021 at 2:00 pm, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.Pursuant to Public Act 15-5, this contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for aware to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, identified as “Bid 2C21-056 Rehabilitation of Bridge 04105 Memorial Blvd over Pequabuck River” accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Bristol as issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. Further, the bidder shall include, as part of its bid, verification for certification as to construction on group 8 bridge structures.The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates as outlined within G.G.S. 31-53 are to apply to the resultant contract award.The awarded contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.Roger D.
