INVITATION TO BID 21-033 The City of Westfield, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the following project: Westfield High School Natatorium Renovation 177 Montgomery Road Westfield, MA 01085 The project work consists of renovations to the Westfield High School natatorium, including removal and replacement of the existing recirculation, filtration and chemical treatment system located in the pool mechanical room at the basement level and repainting of the diving boards. Add Alternates include refurbishment of the pool deck including cleaning and re-grouting of tiled areas, removal and replacement of the existing suspended acoustic tile ceiling system, removal and replacement of existing pool covers, replacement of existing starting blocks and removal and disposal of existing filters from the Pool Mechanical Room. With Add Alternates, the project has an estimated construction cost of $992,000. The General Contractor shall be DCAMM certified in GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. General Bids will be received by the Purchasing Department in the Purchasing Office Room 101 of City Hall until 2:00 p.m. Monday June 28, 2021 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud. If for any reason City Hall is closed for an unforeseen reason, bids will be opened on the next normal business day at the same time as indicated above. Filed Sub-Bidders shall be DCAMM certified for the trades listed below: TILE (Specification Section 09 0002) ACOUSTICAL TILE (Specification Section 09 0003) ELECTRICAL (Specification Section 26 0001) Filed Sub-Bids will be received by the Purchasing Department in the Purchasing Office Room 101 of City Hall until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 16, 2021 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud. If for any reason City Hall is closed for an unforeseen reason, bids will be opened on the next normal business day at the same time as indicated above. Bids are subject to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 §§26 to 27G inclusive. Bid documents will be available Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Bid documents are available for viewing at the office of the City Purchasing Department, Room 102, Municipal Building, Westfield, MA. Bids will be made available electronically through a web portal. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the bid amount and made payable to the City of Westfield. A Pre-Bid Walkthrough will be held on site, on Tuesday June 8, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Bidders shall meet at the natatorium entrance of Westfield High School, 177 Montgomery Road, Westfield, MA 01085. Covid-19 protocols must be observed, including face coverings and social distancing both prior to and during the Pre-Bid Walkthrough. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each of a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth and satisfactory to the Owner and each in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price will be required of the successful Bidder.
