INVITATION TO BID Project: Long Avenue Culvert Stabilization: Project generally consists of demolition of a portion of the existing culvert, concrete bin blocks, embankment sloping and rip rap placement, site backfill, chain link fence, paving restoration and complete restoration of all areas. The Work will be performed under one (1) Contract as follows: General Construction Project ORWIGSBURG BOROUGH Owner: 209 North Warren Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961 Engineer: ARRO CONSULTING, INC. 1239 Centre Turnpike Orwigsburg, PA 17961 (570) 366-9534 Sealed bids will be received by the Orwigsburg Borough Council, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania for the Long Avenue Culvert Stabilization Project. Bids will be accepted at the Orwigsburg Borough Hall, 209 North Warren Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961 until 2:00 p.m. August 9, 2021 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Borough Council will meet on August 11, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. to accept bids, refer to committee, table, award or reject bids. Contract Documents for the work are on file and can be obtained electronically from the office of the Engineer via e-mail request to traci.firing@arroconsulting.com. Bids for this Contract shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid. All Bids shall be effective for sixty (60) calendar days and as indicated in the Instruction to Bidders. The Work must be completed within 90 days from the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond, and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. A pre-bid meeting will be held 10:00 a.m., August 2, 2021, at the project site (corner of Long Avenue and West Mifflin Street). Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is not required, but it is recommended. Questions will be accepted until 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 4, 2021. All questions must be submitted via e-mail to traci.firing@arroconsulting.com The Contract will be subject to the Prevailing Minimum Wage Determination established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry.
