Methuen Public Schools is seeking sealed bids for: IFB22.05 – Installation of 2 Compartment Indoor Cooler/Freezer Walk-In with Refrigeration at the Tenney Grammar School (75 Pleasant ST., Methuen, MA 01844). All bids will be received at the Methuen Public Schools Business Office, 10 Ditson Place, Time Stamped at Reception Area, Methuen, Massachusetts, 01844 until the time specified below at which time the proposals will be publicly opened and read. The time received will be stamped on each bid for a consistency of time, the wall clock in the Reception Area will be the determining time. Monday, March 21, 2022 @ 10:00AM bid documents and bid forms may be obtained on the Methuen Public School – Procurement Webpage: https://methuenk12maus.finalsite. com/departments/procurement. Mandatory Walkthrough will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 3:30PM at the Tenney Grammar School. Bids will be opened in the Business Office, Central Administration Building on Wednesday, April 7, 2022 at 12PM. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security of CASH, CERTIFIED CHECK, or BID BOND issued by a responsible bank or trust company licensed to do business in the State of Massachusetts in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid. The awarded vendor will require a Payment Bond of an amount equal to 50% of the total amount of the bid with a surety company satisfactory to the City of Methuen, as surety, will be required for the faithful payment for all labor and materials used in the work. Such bonds shall be prepared by and supplied by a surety company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If the bid price is over $150,000 a performance and payment bond of 100% of the total bid price will be required. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) workdays after the date set for the opening thereof. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid as determined by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive. The bidding and award of this contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39S. Methuen Public Schools reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids or take whatever other action may be deemed necessary to be in the best interest of Methuen Public Schools.
