NOTICE FOR BIDS – -South Middleton Township, 520 Park Drive Boiling Springs, PA 17007 will be – -accepting sealed bids for hourly equipment and operator/labor rental. The successful bidder will be required to pay employees the appropriate labor rate according to Pennsylvania prevailing wage labor rates. The bid will include an hourly rate to cover the manpower and equipment to perform the specified scope of work designated by the South Middleton Township Public Works Department. Hourly bids will be accepted for the following equipment and operator: Separate bids will be accepted for the tree work and road equipment work. – -Equipment description: Estimated hours of use: – -1. Tri-axle dump truck, roller, paver, miller (belt feed and skid loader mounted), – -and grader for trail building, patch work or paving 80 +/- hrs. – -Tree trimming/arborist: – -2. Bucket truck 60′ min. lift (tree trimming) w/ box 80 +/- hrs. – -and brush chipper (Certified arborist required) – -3. Tree stump grinder 20 +/- hrs. – -Successful bidder will be required to: Under the direction of Public Works – -Department to place or remove materials designated for each specific project. The materials may be stone, asphalt, millings, dirt, wood chips or wood logs. All put-in-place materials will be purchased by South Middleton Township. Successful bidder is required to pick-up project materials (ie. Stone or blacktop) from supplier and must transport to job site. Note: the trail construction bidder will be required to place all stone material with a paver. – -Each bid submission must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in – -the amount of 10% (ten percent) of the bid amount payable to South Middleton Township. A Performance Bond in the amount of 10% (ten percent) of the bid amount shall be submitted by the awardee(s) after execution of the contract, as well as a Worker”s Compensation Certificate. – -Bids are to be submitted on forms supplied by the Township. Bids will be – -accepted until 9:00 am on March 12, 2021 and will be opened and read at 9:00 am on March 12, 2021. Bids will be awarded at the Board of Supervisors meeting on March 25, 2021 at 6:00 pm prevailing time. The bids will become effective April 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022.
