Hatch Lake Sewer Repair Project

Sealed bids for the construction of the “Hatch Lake Sewer Repair Project” will be received at the office of the Valparaiso City Services, 205 Billings Street, Valparaiso, Indiana, 46383, until 5:00 PM, local prevailing time, on February 28, 2023. The bids will be opened and read aloud at the Utility Board meeting beginning at 5:00 PM that same day.

The project includes the installation of approximately 200 feet of 12-inch sanitary sewer and appurtenances, approximately 150 feet of 24-inch storm sewer and appurtenances. The new sewer will be supported by helical piers and concrete saddles.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Valparaiso City Hall, 166 Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN 46383, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM, local prevailing time. Prior to the meeting, all Contractors shall have conducted an on-site inspection of the project site. Questions shall be submitted in writing via email to

nmcginley@valpo.us or by calling the Valparaiso City Services at 219-462-6174. Prospective bidders should contact Valparaiso City Services to ensure they are included on the bidders list to receive any addenda that may be issued.

Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form and must be accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation that copies of Addenda were received (if issued), and satisfactory bid security.

A certified or cashier’s check payable to Valparaiso City Services or a bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. All checks of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them by the City upon selection of successful bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract amount.

Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under the Contract(s) for which a bid is submitted.

In determining the lowest responsible bidder, the Owner will consider all possible bid combinations for the project. The Owner may also consider all other relevant facts mentioned in the Project Documents or which the Owner may legally consider.

The Utility Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the Board deem it to be in the public interest to do so.
