“BID NOTICE” INVITATION FOR BIDS OAK BLUFFS & VINEYARD HAVEN PILE WRAP PROJECT CONTRACT NO. 16-2021 The Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority will accept sealed bids during regular business hours for the “Oak Bluffs & Vineyard Haven Pile Wrap Project” until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Steamship Authority’s Procurement Office, located at 228 Palmer Avenue, Room 207, Falmouth, MA 02540, at which time and place they will be publicly opened. Bid documents are available electronically by contacting the Steamship Authority’s Procurement Officer at (508) 548-5011, extension 515 or via email: pnickerson@steamshipauthority.com The proposed scope of work requires the services of a Marine Diving Contractor to perform maintenance repairs at our Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven Terminals on Martha’s Vineyard. Work at the Oak Bluffs Terminal includes the cleaning, excavation, and installation of pile wraps on 331 timber piles. The work at the Vineyard Haven Terminal includes the encasement of one timber pile and the cleaning excavation and installation of pile wraps on four other timber piles. In addition, at Vineyard Haven we intend to install 56 anodes on 20-inch diameter steel piles. All work is anticipated to start by November 1, 2021 with completion prior to May 1, 2022. The Contractor will be required to pay prevailing rates of wages for all work performed on the project in accordance with the schedule of minimum wage rates issued for this project by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Division of Occupational Safety under the provisions of Mass. G.L.c.149, §§ 26 and 27 All bids submitted for the Contract must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the “Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority” in the name of which the contract for the work is to be executed. The amount of such bid deposit shall be five percent (5%) of the TOTAL CONTRACT PRICE set forth in the bid. The Steamship Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to modify or amend with the consent of the bidder any bid prior to acceptance, and to waive any informality, all as the Authority in its sole judgment and discretion may deem to be in the public interest.
