INVITATION FOR BIDDERS (IFB #22-0002) Central Maintenance Department TOWN OF WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA The Town of West Springfield, in accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 149, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the construction of a 24’X48′ greenhouse at the West Springfield High School, 425 Piper Rd., West Springfield, MA, 01089. The entire work on this project shall be complete by April 29, 2022. Project specifications and plans may be downloaded from the Towns of West Springfield’s website at https://www.townofwestspringfield.org/government/departments /finance/procurement-bid s/bids There will be a contractor’s walk-through on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the High School, 425 Piper Rd. West Springfield. Attendants should gather near the loading dock area on the north side of the school. Attendance to walk-through is highly encouraged. All Questions regarding this project should be submitted in writing to West Springfield, MA by the close of business on Monday, August 16, 2021 Bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope, endorsed with the name and business address of the bidder and marked BID#22-0002-Greenhouse Construction West Springfield High School, delivered personally or by mail, on or before 10:00 AM on Friday, August 20, 2021 to Sandra Wrona, Procurement Agent, Town of West Springfield, J. Edward Christian Municipal Office Building, Municipal Finance Office, Suite 1, 26 Central Street, West Springfield, MA 01089. Immediately after, all bids will be publicly opened and read in the Justin Morgan Auditorium on the second floor of the Municipal Office Building. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond from a licensed surety company, or a Certified check, or a Treasurer’s or Cashier’s check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the base bid payable to the Town of West Springfield. A Payment bond in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price will be required of the Successful Bidder. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish workmen’s compensation insurance and public liability insurance. Attention is called to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D, inclusive.
