United States Of America – “CAT” for short or formally known as Caterpillar Inc. has just dropped some excited news for machine operators across the globe. CAT® invites machine operators from around the world to compete in the 2022/2023 Global Operator Challenge. The challenge puts equipment operators’ abilities and precision to the test as they demonstrate their expertise in operating Cat machines and their ability to manage any piece of construction equipment safely and efficiently.
In the 2019/2020 challenge, 67 Cat dealers sponsored local tournaments, and operators from 30 countries competed. The competition in 2022/2023 will be Caterpillar’s greatest construction industry event of its kind.
CAT: It’s Your Time To Shine
The first phase of the Global Operator Challenge comprises of local qualifiers, which will be hosted by Cat dealers beginning in March and going until September 2022. Caterpillar has introduced the stipulation that each event involve three different challenges on three separate pieces of equipment to make this year’s competition even more difficult.
As a result, in order to advance to the next round, operators must master a wide range of equipment.
Those that advance from the local dealer tournaments will compete in regional semi-finals in October 2022. Nine finalists will be chosen from the regional semifinals to compete in Caterpillar’s outdoor Festival Grounds display F4455 during CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas in March 2023.
The competition winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to a Caterpillar facility anywhere in the world. But don’t worry BYLT will see if we can get you some die cast models for you too though 😉

Participants in the Global Operator Challenge perform a number of tasks, such as excavating a trench, loading a correct amount of soil, and moving or navigating the equipment through a variety of obstacles.
Scoring is based on the operator’s abilities, efficiency, and knowledge of how to use integrated technologies to improve the machine’s performance.
Cat next generation machines will enable these operators to complete the difficulties by utilizing accessible technologies like as Cat Payload, Grade, and Command. Other capabilities, such as Cat Grade Assist, rear view cameras, return to dig, and return to carry, will also help operators complete the challenges.
